About Better Botanicals
At Better Botanicals, our goal is to provide the purest herbal skin care possible. We use no synthetic colors or fragrances, no alcohol, no “bandwagon” ingredients, mineral oil or animal ingredients. We test only on happy, human volunteers. We are committed to providing these products at a price point affordable to more people. Everyone deserves the opportunity to use natural skin care at its best without breaking the pocketbook.
Launched nationally in 1998, our products are based on “Ayurveda.” It is the world’s oldest and most widely practiced school of herbal medicine, originating in India 5,000 years ago. Most of our products are manufactured under Ayurvedic license (distinct from a cosmetic license). Ayurveda determines the herbal blends and the herbs determine product aesthetics. Our concept is to infuse nature’s healing qualities into each preparation to help stimulate the skin’s natural ability to find its way back to balanced health. Our credo is ‘care, not camouflage.’ We rely on Ayurveda’s pure, balancing herbs to offer products that work with the body’s natural rhythm and intelligence to enhance both health and beauty.
We are a condensed line of products and intend to stay simple. Because we are not a “treatment line” per se, we can capitalize on the purity, efficacy, and functionality of the products. We are committed to education and lending support to our stores as often as needed. One of the more positive aspects of a small line is the ability to create and maintain closer relationships with our customers. Every opportunity we have to educate is an opportunity to sell.
What is the difference between Better Botanicals and other product lines?
The products are HERBAL. Many product lines claim to be herbal, however, here is the Better Botanicals difference: For an herbal product to have any functional value, a very high herbal content is needed. Our herbal content ranges from 15% (shampoo) to 100% (steams). Our moisturizers have a 30 - 35% herbal content. Other products out there add an herbal “image ingredient” (1 or 2%) and then make an alpha-hydroxy the active ingredient.
With Better Botanicals, the herbs are the active ingredients and are selected based on efficacy. Better Botanicals does not add anything for fragrance or color. The herbs that are selected by BB and Ayurvedic physicians determine the fragrance and color. |
